CNC VA OPS and CNX Foundation will host their annual backpack giveaway this Friday, July 31st, from 8-5, while supplies last, at 182 Front St. in Richlands.

📚💉 Back-to-School Immunization Clinic – Tomorrow! The Tazewell County Health Department will be offering required back-to-school immunizations for students entering 7th and 12th grades tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. 📍 Location: 253 Chamber Drive Tazewell, VA ✅ Walk-ins are welcome! Help your student start the school year ready by making sure their required immunizations are up to date. We appreciate the Tazewell County Health Department for helping keep our students healthy and prepared for a successful school year!

Nineteen Tazewell County students participated in the Virginia State History Day Competition on April 26 and April 27 in Richmond, Virginia. Ethan Patton (RMS) placed third in the Individual Exhibit (Junior) category. Ethan also won the Constitutional HIstory and Civics Prize. Ellie Lentner (GIS) placed first in the Individual Exhibit (Elementary) category. Kya Dales (RES) placed second in the Individual Performance (Elementary) category. Jackson Buchanan (RES) won the White House Historical Association Award.

Happy National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day to the incredible individuals who safely transport our students every day!

School bus drivers are often the first smile students see in the morning and the last goodbye in the afternoon. They build relationships, create a sense of safety, and play a vital role in the daily rhythm of our schools.

This summer academy may interest students who want to pursue a trade-focused career post-high school. The academy is available for students aged 14-17. 

The following FBLA students from RMS were recognized by the school board this week I for recently competing at the FBLA Middle School State Leadership Conference: • Aubree Gilbert – Competed in Exploring Professionalism • Abbi Houchins – Competed in Exploring Professionalism • Daniel Smith – Competed in Exploring Computer Science • Caleb Boyd – Competed in Exploring Computer Science • Caden Whitt – Ranked 6th in the state in Exploring Marketing Strategies • Finley Riley – Ranked 6th in the state in Exploring Technology • Marial Hyatt – Ranked 9th in the state in Exploring Agribusiness • Nikki Mullins – Ranked 7th in the state in Exploring Business Concepts • Erin White – Ranked 6th in the state in Exploring Parliamentary Procedures • Aleah Whitt – Ranked 4th in the state in Exploring Accounting and Finance and 6th in Exploring Marketing Strategies • Ella Rae Patton – Ranked 3rd in the state in Exploring Public Speaking Congratulations to all of these students for representing RMS so well! 🎉
