George Mason University's Learning Laboratory for Community Health, in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), is conducting an important survey of parents and guardians to uncover the root causes of chronic absenteeism in Virginia’s public schools. Your community’s insights are critical to helping us address this statewide issue and support students, families, and schools.
Why Your Input Matters
According to the AAP’s report, The Link Between School Attendance and Good Health, chronic absenteeism disrupts academic performance and is associated with long-term health challenges. By understanding the barriers students and families face, we can design effective programs and policies to foster improved attendance and overall well-being across Virginia.
